Hot Shots

FSA features a youth shooting program called Hot Shots. Hot Shots is for kids 8 to 18 years of age and teaches safe gun handling techniques and shooting skills for rifles and shotguns. Hot Shots meet for practice the second Saturday of each month 9:00 to 12:00, April through October.

Rifle - For kids desiring to learn how to shoot a rifle we offer a 4-positon small bore program. Kids begin by shooting from a prone position with a sling and as they progress they move to higher positions, sitting, kneeling and standing.

Shotgun - For kids with interest in shooting shotguns we offer training in either skeet or trap. We start kids with very basic shotgun techniques and progressively work with them in each position so they can both learn and enjoy these disciplines.

FSA provides target rifles, shotguns, targets, ear, and eye protection for our Hot Shot participants.

Our instructors are a very dedicated group of individuals, well versed in their shooting discipline and have the skills and patience to work with kids. For more information on Hot Shots feel free to contact the FSA Youth Section Leader, Brian Ferneding.
